Hello Ophir Students! I enjoyed all your comments. I will try to answer some of your questions. Peace Corps is an organization created in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. It has the goal of sending American citizens overseas to developing countries to promote world Peace. Peace Corps has volunteers all over the world who have served in over 139 countries. The main goals of Peace Corps are to provide trained men and women to developing countries, learn about other cultures and teach others about America. I will work in Rwanda for two years then I hope to return to Montana. I have not seen many animals yet, but Rwanda is famous for its Mountain Gorillas. Soccer is a major sport in Rwanda and many children play it. One of my favorite things to do in Rwanda is go to the market and look at all the colorful African fabric and tropical fruits! The school year begins January 10th, that is when I begin teaching. I hope that your class and my Rwandan students can find a way to communicate and learn about each others culture.
